I’ve written these affirmation horoscopes for the lunation that begins with the New Moon in Gemini on May 22, 2020. With this moon, we are being invited to enter into conversation with our personal and collective stories-- the ones we tell ourselves, the ones we relive with each other, and the ones that established long-held patterns that may feel difficult to wiggle free from.
Instead of resisting these stories, I encourage you to witness them. Instead of judging yourself, seek ways to honor how those stories served you before you kick ‘em to the curb. Instead of avoiding the palpable grief that comes from a loss we aren’t truly able to comprehend yet, I challenge you to let it be your teacher.
It is possible for joy and sorrow to exist simultaneously in your heart.
It is possible for gratitude and disdain to escape your lips in the same breath.
It is possible for hope and despair to lift and sink you at the same time.
Be willing to hold the tension of these truths. Be willing to engage with the complexities that arise from doing so. Be willing to hold yourself and others with tenderness as you travel to the underworld and back.
No other humans have known times exactly like these, but the themes surely rhyme with what has come before. Find strength in your ancestors, whether you share their blood or not. You are made of stern stuff, and you are ready for this moment.
