This week we're excited to feature Quonset Hut, a legendary store in Canton, Ohio that has been in business for over 50 years! This hallmark hippy shop opened in 1969 and just recently relocated to a larger building to further expand their offerings in 2019. Q: What is the name of your business and where are you located?
A: Quonset Hut located at 3775 Cleveland Ave NW, Canton, OH 44709
Q: How do you signify ownership?
A: Independent
Q: What kind of shop do you have? What kinds of goods do you carry?
A: An eclectic brick and mortar gift shop with over 50 years in the business. We are a local favorite in Northeast Ohio with greeting cards, jewelry, darts, disc golf, skateboards, metaphysical items, tie-dye, incense, and a smoke shop.
Q: Describe your shop in three words.
A: Legendary counterculture mecca
Q: What inspired you to open your store?
A: Quonset Hut began in 1969 as a hippie boutique specializing in clothing, jewelry, and smokers’ needs. Today, In May 2019, we moved to a new location, converting an aging dry cleaning business into a completely renovated landmark facility that serves as a destination for customers near and far.
Q: What aspects of being a shop owner are your favorite?
A: Searching out new products - like Sea Witch Botanicals! - working alongside a great and dedicated staff, and hearing from customers who have loved the store for decades or just discovered us for the first time.
Q: Are there words you live by or wisdom you'd like to share?
A: Trust your instincts and listen to your customers.
Q: How do you practice self-care?
A: By celebrating successes small and large and not sweating the small stuff.

I was told that the Quonset Hut was located on Whippele in a building with Mr. Hydes Leather the building was called the Barn is this true? Thanks for your help
