Stiff Upper Lip Mustache Wax Info

Stiff Upper Lip Mustache Wax is one of the first products our Master Crafter & Founder, Alesia, created. It still holds up (in quality and your facial follicles)! We’re bringing back our best mustache wax for all of you to enjoy. Made with 4 simple plant-based ingredients, you can feel good knowing what’s on your lip is free of plastics and junk. Apply as much as you need for a medium to strong hold and breathe in that rich cocoa butter aroma.

We recommend using a beard conditioner before application to soften your mustache and make it more manageable to sculpt your signature style.

    What’s In It?

We use a beard wax alternative to the typical beeswax. Candelilla wax is the unsung hero of beeswax alternatives. This wax comes from the candelilla shrub, Euphorbia antisyphilitica, native to Mexico and Southwestern United States. Candelilla wax is superior to beeswax for its structure and melting point for cosmetics, at least in our opinion. Better yet, candelilla wax is plant-based and vegan!

Although this is technically an “unscented” mustache wax, you still get to breathe in the warm aroma of rice oil and chocolate. There’s no added fragrance, so you can keep your aroma as your own.

Ingredients: candelilla wax, rice bran oil, soy wax, cocoa butter (organic, fair trade)

    What Does Mustache Wax do?

If you’re new to taming your mustache, you may be wondering “what does mustache wax do?” or “why do I need mustache wax?” We’ll I’ll tell you this for free: It’s a damn disappointment to put that time into growing out those hundred hairs and inhaling them while chomping down on a burrito!

Mustache wax helps keep hair out of your mouth and makes a statement that you give a damn about how you take care of yourself (cue the siren’s swoon). Wear it up, wear it down, wear it outwards, just take care of your ‘stache.

    Types of Holds

This is a strong hold wax, depending on how much you intend to use. If you’re looking for a bit of manicuring, then a medium hold wax is fine (just use less of this). If you want a Salvador Dali-esque tusk, then pile on more wax and warm it up to get your signature style.

    How to Use Mustache Wax

How you apply mustache wax is up to personal preference and your overall style. Simply put, scrape out some wax with the back of your thumbnail, then warm it between your fingers until you can work it into your mustache. Start by massaging in the wax so you start welding the hair together. Reach in for another scoop of wax and repeat. Once you have enough of a form, you can add a larger dose of wax and press, pinch, or twirl your ‘stache into submission.

Apply liberally, menacingly, thoroughly, or fancifully, but just get it done!

How to Best Soften Mustache Wax

Keep your tin of wax in your pocket to keep it warm and easily apply whenever you need a touch-up. Scrape some wax out of the tin and rub it betwixt your fingers to warm and loosen up the wax, then apply to your moustache.

    Mustache or Moustache?

Depends on how fancy you want to get about it. The spelling of “Mustache” has gained more popularity over the last 140 years in the Americas. “Moustache” is more common in British English and the Commonwealth, but it just looks hella fancy. What’s your pick?
